Day 7--Ecole Militaire

On our last full day in Paris we started out by walking the streets near our hotel.

At one end of the Champs de Mars, there was on old military school called the Ecole Militaire. This building was used in the past to train cavalry and artillary units. The building and training areas behind take up an entire street block. The photo show the Cavalry end of the building.

This is the main entrance to the building. What it is used for now we could not figure out, nor could we determine whether they were letting anyone in to take a look. One evening when we walked past it, the main door was open and we peeked inside, and while the outside seems to have been kept in its original state the inside seemed plain and modernized, but as I said, our glimpse was brief so I really don't know what the rest of the building looks like.

This is the artillary end of the building.
